Abstract:A network video surveillance system for laying hens farm was designed based on embedded technology. Linux operation system environment was built. Video and image were processed in parallel on embedded terminal: videos captured by V4L were coded based on H.264, transmitted to surveillance platform using RTP/RTCP and UDP, decoded and displayed on surveillance platform. An image from frames splice according to their contents was binarized by Ohta, converted into a distance image, binarized again with a threshold of egg radius to count eggs, and the total number was overprinted on video by OSD. Field experiment showed that videos were displayed real-timely and clearly and eggs were counted with an average accuracy of 96.07% on surveillance platform.
