    Abstract:

An Arrhenius form first order reaction kinetic model was introduced to determine volatilization characteristics of corn powders. The factors which affect the kinetic parameter of the Arrhenius model including: volatile percent, final volatile percent and residential time. A laminar entrained flow reactor (LEFR) was designed and constructed to obtain the volatile percent and final volatile percent of corn powders. Using the PIV cold test conclusion, accurate residential time of corn powders in LEFR was obtained by optimizing the calculation method. Based on experimental results, the values of frequency factor and activation energy of corn powders pyrolysis were determined. The results showed that the test values fit well with the predict values, which verified practicability of the model.
