    Abstract:

    In order to study the influence of geometric and kinematics parameters of the single basecutter on cutting quality and mass loss during cutting, the virtual prototype of the basecutter was created by using ObjectARX and AutoCAD. Virtual test study showed that: the phenomenon of multi-blade cutting and repeatedly cutting was found, and it was verified by high-speed photograph test; the times of occurring multi-blade and repeatedly cutting were also derived. The multi-blade cutting which exceeded two-blade occurred for the reason of matching among parameters of speed of rotation, forward velocity, and numbers of blades, and it could be avoided; different oblique angle would lead to different passing through distance of the blade, and it is equivalent to different blade thickness in cutting; different position of sugarcane to basecutter would influence on the stress of the stubble when being cut.
