Abstract:A high-voltage electrostatic spraying machine was developed to control locusts in agriculture and stockbreeding and reduce the expenses induced by the outbreak of locust disaster. A four-wheel drive vehicle was adopted as the carrying equipment. Independent diesel generator was installed on the platform of the vehicle. Start-up and halt of the spraying, pitching and horizontal rotating of the spray part could be realized by way of installing a control panel in the cab. Experiments of spray part were carried out in the laboratory. Distributions of axial velocity, section velocity, volume middle diameter and droplet deposition were obtained. The integrated machine experiment was performed in a locust zone of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region. Experimental results exhibited the killing effects with different pesticides, pesticide flow rates and electrostatic factors. Optimized operation parameters of the machine were also determined according to the experimental data.
