Based on the theory for water movement in non-saturated soil, the mathematical model of film hole irrigation was developed to describe soil water movement, and the simulation was performed by using SWMS—3D software. According to the simulated results, the characteristics and infecting factors of infiltration of film hole irrigation was analyzed, and the simplified film hole infiltration model including the opening hole ratio and the film hole diameter was presented. The model was verified by infiltration experiments at several typical soils condition and other researcher’s experiment results. It was showed that the model is simple and credible with less parameters, which can been using for deciding reasonable technological elements of film hole irrigation water to improve irrigation water quality.
