The innovation of the jet self-priming irrigation pumps was suggested. According to the disadvantages of the traditional jet centrifugal pumps such as complicated structure, poor manufactured techniques and so on, the economic characteristics of this new kind pump researches and its structure were introduced, its social and economic benefits were analyzed. Some problems under settlement in the development of the jet self-priming irrigation pumps were discussed and the trends for further development were also put forward.
