The current near field acoustic holography techniques are all based on the measurement of the pressure. In the paper, the method as well as the formulation based on the measurement of the particle velocity was proposed to reconstruct the acoustic field. The feasibility and correctness of the proposed method were validated by the numerical simulation. By comparing with the results based on the pressure, this new method has higher precision and smaller reconstruct error on the edge of the reconstruct plane, and it can achieve the same precision by smaller measurement aperture.
